I painted & dyed the costumes for Ode, an original Alvin Ailey Dance Theater ballet, created by their first ever resident choreographer, Jamar Roberts.
The dance payed tribute to victims of gun violence & expresses the reverberations felt across families & communities that lose their young men due to these senseless acts.
The garments were hand-painted in subtle tones & dip-dyed as if the dancers were coming out of the ground, floating in the space between death & rebirth.
The ballet was featured here in the The New York Times.

I hand-painted the costumes for the New York City Ballet's rendition of Merce Cunningham's Summerspace. The original 1958 production featured a backdrop and costumes by Robert Rauschenberg. I was brought into match NYCB's version of Rauschenberg's designs. The ballet was featured here in the The New York Times

Hand-dyed, sunset-inspired canopies. Made to provide shade for dreaming & scheming at a beach-side music festival.

2018
Juggy Jazz Cave was a multimedia installation created in collaboration with artist, Joe Winograd, for BangOn! NYC’s Warehouse of Horrors festival in Brooklyn, NY.
I created the hanging fabric stalactite sculptures, which ranged from 5 to 15 feet long. During the multi-day event, Joe’s visuals were projected onto the stalactites so that colors & patterns danced along the forms in time to the music.
2017
Hand-dyed & sewn 15-foot feather banners for BangOn! production company's 3-day event: Elements NYC Music & Art Festival; commissioned by Julianne Irene.
